When I was really little I really loved My Goodnight Book. My mom read it to me like very night when I was no older then two. Its a story about a little girls bed time routine is. For the children's book I write it will be about a little kid, or a talking animal. I don't know for sure yet what the book will be about.
ReplyDeleteGrowing up one of my favorite books was Junie B Jones. Any of them, it's about a girl named Junie B Jones and her life as a kid and why things are unfair or her dreams.
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed the Knuffle Bunny books, because it reminded me of the stuffed hippo animal I had. I still have it today. It used to be green with pink ears and paws, but now its a dirty neon-yellow with an aged pastel pink paws; as you might have guessed, I named in, "Pink Ears." It also had a plastic black nose, but I ripped it off with my teeth. Luckily, I didn't choke on it and die! If I wrote a children's book it would probably be pretty dark, much like the series I was drawing and writing; but, since the story is about cancer and suicide it isn't very, "Kiddish," however, I would read it to my child. I think that it is best to tell kids the dark side of the world so that they can deal with it when they are young. But, I would prefer to write something more happy. Kids like happy.
ReplyDeleteWhen I was little my mom used to read Dinos to Go to me, which had a bunch of dinosaurs with different names illustrated in watercolor paint. Each of them had different personalities. She read it to me until I learned to read it and then I read it to her. If I were to write a children's book I'd write about how people should treat each other and how to not judge one another.
ReplyDeleteWhen i was a little girl, my favorite book was the Junie B Jones series. The books are about a kindergardener with a sassy attitude and all of her adventures and conflitcs she comes across in Mrs. B's room. If I could write a childrens book, I would make a book about cartoon animals because they are fun and those were my favorite books as a kid.
ReplyDeleteWhen I was little my favorite book was the very hungry caterpillar. The book with the pages that are cardboard and all different sizes. I am not exactly sure why I liked it so much, just stuck out to me. I think that It is a lot harder than it seems to write a children's book. It's not that easy coming up with a story that someone that young can comprehend and enjoy.
ReplyDeleteWhen I was growing up, my parents read to me all the time. If You Give a Mouse a Cookie was probably my favorite childhood book. It was very simple and I enjoyed it thoroughly throughout my childhood of reading.
ReplyDeleteI think writing a children's book would be very difficult to do. After learning to write so complex work for classes, it is difficult to write simply for a children to understand and enjoy. Coming up with a creative children;s story is something I have little to no experience with. I think this activity will be very challenging for me but I look forward to challenging myself!

ReplyDeleteOne of my favorite children's book when I was younger were the "If You Give a Mouse..." book series. It was basically about a mouse that went on several adventures and got into trouble. I liked it so much because it had a lot of humor behind the stories and it the main character was also very mischievous, which reminds me of myself when I was younger. I think it would be very difficult to write children's book because you would have to put your mind set back to when you were a kid and remind yourself what it is like to think and learn as a very young kid.
ReplyDeleteOne of my all time favorite children's book is "The Giving Tree". The book is basically about a tree that kept giving and giving itself to this boy until he finally had nothing left to give. The book was very sentimental and actually kind of sad but I love it. I personally do not think I could ever write a children's book for publication because I don't really know what little kids like. It is kind of hard to think like them, it take a certain kind of person.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite book growing up was a Winnie the Pooh book about Piglet blowing up a balloon. I think I liked it so much because it was funny and my mom did a really good job of acting it out as she read it. I think it will be more difficult than it seems to write a childrens book, just because it requires a different sort of writing style and mindset. However, I think it will be really fun to attempt!
ReplyDeleteOne of my favorite books as a child was My Lucky Day. It was about a pig that got captured by a fox. In order to trick the fox, he told the fox that he was so stiff that his meat wouldn't be good, so the fox gave him a massage. Then, he said that he was really hungry and that he wouldn't be plump enough to be good meat, so he made the pig spaghetti and meatballs. Eventually, the fox got so tired from caring for the pig that he fell asleep, and the pig was able to escape. I liked the story because the pictures were really bright and colorful, and the story had a really playful tone to it.
ReplyDeleteI think I want to make the main characters of my book animals. I'm probably going to make mine take place in nature, like in a forest or in the tundra. It's going to teach kids a message (I'm unsure of what, I just feel like that's a staple children books).
I never remember my parents reading to me as a child, but one book that I would read over and over again was "Charlotte's Web." I'm pretty sure everyone knows the story of Charlotte's Web, but it's about a girl who saves the runt from a litter of piglets and raises him, naming him Wilbur. Once he's too big to stay inside anymore he moves to live on a farm where a nice spider named Charlotte helps him from getting slaughtered.
ReplyDeleteI think it would be fun to write a children's book because I would love to do my own illustrations.
I remember reading The black lagoon adventure book series in elementary and Scary stories to tell in the dark series as well. Those were my favorites growing up, I've read SO MANY books but those always stuck with me. I thought I was so cool because I liked scary stuff and to this day still love it!
ReplyDeleteI think it would be hard to write a children's book because there are already soooo many and I would want mine to be different than all the ones we have read or that are out there but it I did I'd probably write about the adventures of my dogs Dexter and Oso and my little sister Julia.
One of my favorite books when I was a kid was The Very Hungry Caterpillar. This story is about a caterpillar that eats more and more each day until he gets very sick. After getting better, he decides to eat just leaves and then forms a cocoon and turns into a butterfly. I think I liked this story so much as a kid because it showed the beauty of a caterpillar turning into a butterfly.
ReplyDeleteI think I would write a children's book about some type of animal and a problem they have. I would try to keep it realistic, but at the same time fun and easy for children. I think it would be fun to write a children's book because of the story line and all of the illustrations.
My favorite children's book was If You Give a Mouse a Cookie. It was about a mouse who got a cookie and then needed milk, when he got milk he needed something else and so on and so forth. It was so funny to me and my dad and I used to read it together, while we ate chocolate chip cookies.
ReplyDeleteI think writing a children's book would be easy. You get to go deep into your childhood fantasies and base it around a popular lesson that all children need to learn
My favorite book was If You Give a Mouse a Cookie. It was about all of the crazy things that would happen if you actually gave a mouse a cookie. They were all completely unrealistic ideas, that only a kids imagination could understand.
ReplyDeleteI would write a book about friendships. Some kids need to learn from a more understandable way, how to treat other people. If they learn at a younger age, it will raise them to be better people over all.
My favorite children book is Harry the Dirty Dog. Harry, the dog, does not want to take a bath so he runs away and gets so dirty that he changes colors. He goes back to his family and they don't recolonize him. He runs up to the bath and his family finally remembers him. I don't know why I like the book so much but mg dad used to read it two me every night before I would go to bed and it was the first book I could read on my own.
ReplyDeleteI would want to write a book about animals more specifically pandas just because they are my favorite animals and I would have the money go to saving the pandas.
One of my favorite kid books to read when i was a kid was "No, David." When author and artist David Shannon was five years old, he wrote a semi-autobiographical story of a little kid who broke all his mother's rules. He chewed with his mouth open (and full of food), he jumped on the furniture, and he broke his mother's vase! The reason why it resonated with me some much is cause when i was a kid i was always being told no and i dont like that. If i wrote a kids book, it would be about dreaming. When we are kids we love to dream, and as we get older that dream or that thought fades away because of everything that happen in the world and we get side tracked. It would be very difficult because it would be hard for the kids to understand what youre saying.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite childhood book was Corduroy. It was a book about a little bear in mall who get lost my owner. He also loses one of his buttons and goes around the mall looking for a button that he can put in place of the lost one. I don't know why but I liked the idea of being in the mall after it was closed. It sounded so fun! I really loved that book and I sometimes miss it.
ReplyDeleteI think writing a children's book could be easy. I don't think kids are hard to entertain, but just because it entertains them doesn't mean they like it. I think the writing would be the easiest. All you have to do is a pick a cute main character who has a problem, and solve the problem while also teaching a lesson. The hard part would be the artwork. It would be hard to draw something every kid would like or find cute.
When i was little my favourite book was called Because of Winn Dixie.
ReplyDeleteIt was about a little girl who found a stray dog in the Winn Dixie department store and they were about to take him to the pound so she took him saying he was hers. Its basically all about how she helped the dog and the dog always helped her in return. Its such a good book and i would totally read it again, and the movie is really good too.
